This article analyzes the importance of interpreting legal documents in the qualification of crimes, its scientific and theoretical foundations, and its role in judicial and investigative practice. The author discusses the main types of legal interpretation (official, legal, judicial) and, using the resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan as examples, explains the legal mechanisms for eliminating ambiguities in legislation and ensuring the accurate, correct, and uniform application of legal norms
