The article is devoted to the analysis of magical beliefs and customs preserved in the family rituals and everyday life of the Karakalpak people. The author highlights some aspects of the rituals associated with «nan sindiriw», «bet ashar», and the birth of a child, which took place at Karakalpak wedding ceremonies. The research is mainly based on field research conducted in the Khojayli and Shumanay districts and ethnographic data published in ethnographic literature. The article mentions manifestations of ritual magic based on James Fraser's theory of sympathetic magic. The article also analyzes the modern transformation of magical practices related to eliminating infertility and protecting child health
