This study presents a comparative analysis of cultural codes of security in East Asian and Anglo-Saxon legal traditions. In the Chinese and Korean paradigms, security is conceptualized as a holistic state of social harmony, grounded in the symbol of the hearth and extrapolated to the state level through a regulated order. In contrast, the Anglo-Saxon tradition has developed a differentiated system of guarantees, wherein security is ensured through legal procedures and the limitation of arbitrary power.
