Abstract
This study examines the concept of gender from scientific and linguistic perspectives. It demonstrates that gender is not limited to biological sex but should be understood as a social construct closely connected with society. While the term “sex” was initially more widely used in academic research, the concept of “gender” later emerged to describe social roles, behavior, and an individual’s position within society
