Abstract

This paper investigates an initial-boundary value problem for a hyperbolic equation with the Caputo fractional derivative of order 1 2    . An analytical solution is obtained by the method of separation of variables combined with the Laplace transform and represented in terms of the Mittag–Leffler functions. The existence and uniqueness theorems for the regular solution are proved, and the uniform convergence of the resulting series is established
